Industry and trade are one of the most important elements in the development system of any society and in order to upgrade them, many countries resort to establishing logistics zones to enhance the movement of industry and trade by paying attention to the transport and supply process, logistics has worked to reduce production costs worldwide significantly, in the United States of America reduced 16% of the costs of gross national product, in Japan 10%, and in the European Union 12%.
Hence the idea of studying a group of the most important regional and global logistics zones, namely: Dubai (Jebel Ali Port and Dubai Logistics City), and Panama (Panama Canal and Colon Free Zone), in order to determine their impact on the development rates in these countries and try to benefit from their experiences in order to apply them to the development plan of the Suez Canal axis in Egypt.
This research aims to study the logistics zones and identify the most important elements of their success, clarify the role of logistics zones as one of the basic strategies that must be upgraded in the development system, and know the extent to which logistics systems can be applied in Egypt.
