Employing Arabic typography in creating digital designs inspired by Islamic miniatures

Abstract

The study seeks to reveal the aesthetic values of Typography 
(Arabic calligraphy) In digital design, and to learn about the 
advantages of plastic elements in Islamic miniatures, to achieve 
this, the analytical descriptive curriculum, the experimental 
curriculum, the study prepared a data collection questionnaire, as 
well as an analysis form, was built to analyze selections of digital 
Typography designs, and a selection of artworks (Islamic 
miniatures), and the study used computer graphics software for 
artistic designs Photoshop) In the study's applied experience, the study sample consisted of a number of (198) Those working 
in the fields of art, design and other fields of art as well as the 
sample of the study consisted of a number (5) digital Arabic 
Typography designs of contemporary artists chosen in a 
deliberate manner according to specific criteria, A number (5) of 
artistic designs of works of ancient Islamic miniatures in the 
Abbasid and modern times by contemporary artists were chosen 
in a deliberate manner according to specific criteria The study 
also carried out 4 digital design experiments, and the results of 
the study showed that Arabic Typography holds its own aesthetic 
values in digital design because of its flexibility diversity and the 
possibility of employing Typography in digital designs inspired 
by Islamic miniatures, Islamic miniatures have distinctive artistic 
features and can be used to create modern digital designs. The 
study found several recommendations, the most important of 
which was attention to the aesthetics of Arabic Typography in 
digital design. Islamic miniatures ", and its aesthetic, functional, 
research and investigation possibilities for the contents of 
recurring Islamic miniature symbols of the Abbasid era.
