Abstract

The architectural field is undergoing a significant transformation due to rapid technological advancements, particularly through the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into design processes. Tools like SketchUp are becoming essential in this evolving landscape, enhancing creativity and architectural practice. Traditionally, architectural design relied on slow, conventional methods, but AI-supported rendering techniques are changing this dynamic by improving iteration speed and offering innovative options for materials and lighting. AI facilitates the exploration of various design alternatives, allowing architects to focus on creativity while reducing time spent on repetitive tasks. Studies show that AI tools enhance decision-making during the early design stages, where rapid prototyping and visualization are crucial. However, AI is not a substitute for human creativity; rather, it enhances architects' capabilities. Challenges include potential distortions in AI-generated images, difficulties in adapting to new technologies, high computational demands, and biases in outputs. To address these issues, specialized training programs are recommended, alongside further research into AI's impact on the creative process. In conclusion, while AI offers exciting opportunities for architectural design, its integration must be approached thoughtfully to ensure it complements human creativity, fostering a collaborative environment for innovation.
