Building construction and operation consume a significant amount of global energy and non-renewable material resources during all phases of a structure's life cycle, despite the fact that the construction industry is a vital one for humans. Additionally, it significantly adds to annual global greenhouse gas emissions, which is inconsistent with the sustainable development objectives of the 2030 environmental policy. Thus, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) has been extensively used in the construction industry to make buildings more energy efficient and lower their carbon impact.
