Abstract

The research addresses the issue of the role of Lebanese rural women in crafts and handicrafts by approaching what is transmitted through popular culture in particular. People's needs, concerns, aspirations, and concerns, which are established through cooperation, solidarity, harmony, and synergy between family members and the community to play a purely functional role in the ancient society.
The research notes that industries and crafts emerged from nature, and had their own specificity, as they played the main role in furnishing and equipping homes, and among these crafts: weaving, carpeting and rugs, decorating and making decorative dishes, spinning sheep and goat wool, cotton and hair, raising silkworms, and working needles, hooks and looms. And "Opsoon", embroidery on sheets, pillows, curtains and abayas.
However, with the advent of science, technology, and the information revolution, and the resulting development in various fields of knowledge and communication, and a change in the psychological and social structures, and in the thinking pattern of individuals, the individual began to separate from the group, and all of this was reflected in heritage and popular culture, as well as in the role of women, which was limited Her social relations in the past depended on the family and the limited rural community, while today her circle of relations has expanded to have a prominent role in the economic, social, cultural and political fields and many aspirations that drive her to success, brilliance, self-realization, and effective contribution to building and developing society.
The research concludes by saying that most of the industries, crafts, and simple manual material practices have transformed from collective values to individual values. modern..
Here, it is necessary to shed light on these transformations that this culture and this heritage is exposed to, which threaten its privacy and distinction and lead to its extinction over time.
In this context, the Visions and Transformations Conference (Second Session) comes to raise this problem and protect the loss of the sources of our popular heritage and our cultural identity due to the changes taking place in our contemporary world .
